How do you achieve those precious sleeping baby poses that everyone loves? Following the newborn prep guide that your photographer gives you is essential. If you don't understand something that your photographer is asking you to do, please talk with them. It is our goal to make your experience as enjoyable as possible while giving you memories that you can cherish for a lifetime. In the following weeks, I will be going over some of the things that I have in my prep guide and why it is important, as well as tricks and tips to help us create a magical image together.

Give Baby a Bath

One of the best things that you can do to prepare baby is to give him/her a bath. I recommend feeding the baby, then bathing the baby. Place the baby in a warm, not hot, bath and talk to him to help keep him awake. This not only relaxes the baby, but it helps to get rid of alot of the flaky skin and cradle cap that some babies have. After the bath, you can continue your bonding time by applying lotion to baby's skin and giving baby a massage.

TIPS FOR KEEPING BABY AWAKE BEFORE THE SESSION

- Talk to your baby- sing songs (not lullabies)

- Change baby's diaper

- Tickle baby's feet

- Apply a cool wash cloth to baby's feet or back

- Hand baby to Dad or a grandparent to help keep baby occupied if you are beginning to feel stressed.

- Give baby a bath.

- Apply lotion to baby's skin
